Training seminars on treaty law and practice at the United Nations Headquarters, in New York, are organized twice a year (Spring and Fall).These seminars cover the depositary practice of the Secretary-General and the registration and publication of treaties in accordance with Article 102 of the Charter, as well as more specialized topics, such as particular issues arising with respect to certain aspects of the law of treaties (e.g., reservations, amendments) or to treaties in certain areas (e.g., environment, human rights, disarmament).

These training seminars are mainly intended for the diplomatic community at Headquarters, including legal advisers and other officials of Permanent Missions to the United Nations, visiting government officials from capitals, and other interested persons. They are free of charge and are conducted in English. Invitations to the UN Headquarters training seminars are sent to Permanent Missions and published on the United Nations Journal and this website.
