Multilateral Treaties Deposited with the Secretary-General

This database provides information on the status of over 500 major multilateral instruments deposited with the Secretary-General of the United Nations (including the texts of reservations, declarations and objections) and covers a range of subject matter such as Human Rights, Disarmament, Commodities, Refugees, the Environment and the Law of the Sea. The number of treaties deposited with the Secretary-General keeps growing steadily. This database reflects the status of these instruments, as Member States sign, ratify, accede or lodge declarations, reservations or objections. It is available in hard copy that is over one thousand pages in length and is published annually (three volumes) in English and French.

NAGOYA PROTOCOL ON ACCESS TO GENETIC RESOURCES AND THE FAIR AND EQUITABLE SHARING OF BENEFITS ARISING FROM THEIR UTILIZATION TO THE CONVENTION ON BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY. NAGOYA, 29 OCTOBER 2010

The above Protocol was adopted on 29 October 2010 at Nagoya, Japan, during the tenth meeting of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. In accordance with its article 32, the Protocol will be opened for signature by Parties to the Convention at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 2 February 2011 until 1 February 2012.

INTERNATIONAL COCOA AGREEMENT, 2010. GENEVA, 25 JUNE 2010

In accordance with its article 54, the above Agreement shall be open for signature in New York from 1 October 2010 until 30 September 2012, by parties to the International Cocoa Agreement, 2001, and Governments invited to the United Nations Conference, 2010.

  • Certified true copies of the Agreement, of which the Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish texts are equally authentic, will be prepared and will be transmitted to all States as soon as possible.

CENTRAL AFRICAN CONVENTION FOR THE CONTROL OF SMALL ARMS AND LIGHT WEAPONS, THEIR AMMUNITION AND ALL PARTS AND COMPONENTS THAT CAN BE USED FOR THEIR MANUFACTURE, REPAIR AND ASSEMBLY. KINSHASA, 30 APRIL 2010

The above Convention shall be opened for signature by States members of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and by the Republic of Rwanda, States members of the United Nations Standing Advisory Committee on Security Questions in Central Africa, at Brazzaville, on 19 November 2010, and subsequently at United Nations Headquarters in New York, until its entry into force, in accordance with its article 35, paragraph 1.
