The Convention shall be open for signature by all States in Singapore, on 7 August 2019, and thereafter at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Declarations and Reservations (Unless otherwise indicated, the declarations and reservations were made upon ratification, accession or succession.)BelarusReservation made upon signature, and confirmed upon approval:"In accordance with the article 8 of the Convention the Republic of Belarus shall not apply this Convention to settlement agreements to which it is a party, or to which any governmental agencies or any person acting on behalf of a governmental agency is a party."GeorgiaReservations:“The following reservations shall be taken into consideration upon ratification of the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation:a) Georgia declares that this Convention shall not apply to settlement agreements to which it is a party, or to which any governmental agencies or any person acting on behalf of governmental agency is a party;b) Georgia hereby declares that this Convention shall apply only to the extent that the parties to the settlement agreement have agreed to the application of the Convention.”Iran (Islamic Republic of)Declaration made upon signature:“The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran seizes the opportunity at this moment of signing ‘the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation’, to place on the record its ‘understanding’ in relation to provisions of the Convention, bearing in mind that the main objective for submitting this declaration is the avoidance of eventual future interpretation of the following articles in a manner incompatible with the original intention and previous positions or in disharmony with national laws and regulations of the Islamic Republic of Iran.It is the understanding of the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as reservations that:- the Islamic Republic of Iran has no obligation to apply this Convention to settlement agreements to which it is a party, or to which any governmental agencies or any person acting on behalf of a governmental agency is a party, to the extent specified in the declaration;- The Islamic Republic of Iran will apply this Convention only to the extent that the parties to the settlement agreement have agreed to the application of the Convention;- The Islamic Republic of Iran may have the choice to make reservations upon ratification;- The Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Convention, reserves the right to adopt laws and regulations to co-operate with the States.”JapanReservation:“In accordance with paragraph 1(b) of Article 8 of the Convention, the Government of Japan declares that the Convention shall apply only to the extent that the parties to the settlement agreement have agreed to the application of the Convention.”KazakhstanReservations made upon ratification:“1. In accordance with article 8, paragraph 1 (a) of the Convention, the Republic of Kazakhstan does not apply this Convention to settlement agreements to which it is a party, or to which any governmental agencies or any person acting on behalf of a governmental agency is a party.2. In accordance with article 8, paragraph 1 (b) of the Convention, the Republic of Kazakhstan shall apply this Convention only to the extent that the parties to the settlement agreement have agreed to the application of the Convention.”Saudi ArabiaReservation made upon ratificationThe Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hereby declares that the Convention shall not apply to settlement agreements to which it or any of its governmental agencies is a party, or any person acting on behalf of those governmental agencies.
