The Convention remained open for signature until 30 June 1984. The Conference was convened pursuant to General Assembly resolution 36/113&lt;superscript&gt;1&lt;/superscript&gt; of 10 December 1981 and 37/11&lt;superscript&gt;2&lt;/superscript&gt; of 15 November 1982.  The Conference met at the Neue Hofburg in Vienna from 1 March to 8 April 1983.  In addition to the Convention, the Conference adopted the Final Act and certain resolutions, which are an nexed to that Act. By unanimous decision of the Conference, the original of the Final Act was deposited in the archives of the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria.
